Mariana Gatti

Mariana Gatti is a Brazilian strategist, researcher and programme director working at the intersection of fashion, agriculture and regenerative systems. Her perspective is shaped by close work with agroecological farming communities, and by a commitment to questioning power imbalances in supply chains so that sourcing models can better support farmer agency, ecological resilience and community strength.

Her work moves between field realities and institutional strategy: designing and directing multi-stakeholder projects, building bridges between brands, funders, producers and civil society, and translating complex material systems into practical pathways for change. Previously a partner at Farfarm, she helped develop regenerative sourcing programmes with family farmers in Brazil, connecting implementation on the ground with broader questions of livelihoods, environmental transition and industrial transformation.

Through Cotton Diaries, Mariana brings a systems and narrative lens to cotton, asking how fashion can better understand the land, labour, knowledge and conditions behind the fibres it depends on. Her work is rooted in the belief that changing materials also means changing relationships: between brands and farmers, markets and territories, extraction and care.
